About Bronwyn Bennett
Bronwyn Bennett is the director of Creating Healthy Spaces. Bronwyn draws on her life experiences of raising 3 boys, her studies of natural medicine, and Building Biology to give her clients a comprehensive insight on how lifestyle and environmental factors are all fundamentally connected to our health and wellbeing, including mind, body and spirit.
Residing in the SE suburbs of Melbourne, Bronwyn’s journey began as a child who was covered in eczema and suffered with asthma, and everything seemed to make her sneeze. It wasn’t until the family cat died that her allergies improved, and the realisation emerged that she was allergic to cats. Pity her next pets were birds, and it was discovered that she was also allergic to bird feathers.
During her early 20’s Bronwyn travelled extensively through Europe and Africa. In 1992 whilst in Malawi, Bronwyn contracted Cerebral Malaria, which almost took her life, upon returning to Australia it took over 2 years to recover to full health as the search from doctor to doctor began to help her heal. Naturopathy was the modality that helped the most. Herbal and Nutritional supplements along with yoga, juicing and rest, helped her body to heal, and opened the door to Natural Medicine studies. After three years of studying Naturopathy, Bronwyn relocated to London UK, where her passion for herbs, homeopathy, and indian head massage grew as she raised two small boys with her husband Russ.
In 2003, they relocated their young family to Melbourne. Tragically in 2004, their second born son Harry died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 3. This traumatic life changing experience of loss causes a person to ask the big questions in life, how does anyone recover from this type of loss? To honour her young sons life, Bronwyn is driven to make a difference to others, and give back however she can to the community. After all it takes a village to raise a child.
Parenting is the most amazing experience in the world, the ups and downs and the unexpected. Due to the needs of her children, Bronwyn has adopted “The Fed up Diet”, by Sue Dengate, removing all artificial colours and preservatives. Her youngest suffers from food intolerances, so Bronwyn understands the difficulties, of having restricted dietary requirements, and dealing with these issues on a daily basis. Bronwyn loves her Thermomix, as it enables her to provide nutritious unprocessed meals for her friends and family. To heal her sons gut, the family have adopted the GAPS Diet, and tried fermenting foods. They enjoy the benefits of eating organic food where possible.
Whilst working in the health food industry, Bronwyn returned to study to complete a Cert IV in Building Biology under the guidance of accomplished Naturopath and Building Biologist Nicole Bijslma at the Australian College of Environmental Studies. On a daily basis Bronwyn is asked for her advice on diet, lifestyle, nutritional supplements and environmental factors. Bronwyn loves to educate and empower people to protect the next generation from factors that are detrimental to our health and to provide alternatives and solutions. Bronwyn is happy to speak to small intimate groups, in a person’s home or workplace, kindergartens and schools. Bronwyn believes that small changes can make a lasting difference to their health and ultimately, their lives.
Bronwyn’s consultancy business is committed to excellent customer service through the values of honesty, authenticity, personal responsibility and openness. We speak the facts, not just opinions.
